What's New??
This section presents new information that pertains to the class since the publication of the course syllabus. Please check back here frequently for course updates.
Mallard Quizzes
Mallard is a web-based tool that we will use for learning assessment (aka Quizzes). There will be five quizzes on course material that you will take on-line over the course of the semester. Click here to log into the course Mallard site. Your login and password will be given in class, but please change your password the first time you log on.
You will find Quizzes on the "Lessons" page of Mallard. The quizzes are open-book reviews of course material, so you get one chance to submit your quiz.
The Course Syllabus
The course syllabus provides a detailed description of the course objectives, content, requirements and grading structure. You can then print off the syllabus using the Print function under File in the browser menu bar above.
The course syllabus is available by clicking here.
WebBoard
WebBoard is a web-based tool for interaction. It functions much like a Bulletin Board or list-serv and is designed to enhance communciation among people in the course (students and faculty). The usual rules of civil discourse and netiquette apply.

Assignments
In addition to being described on the syllabus and announced in class, assignments will be posted on this page. NOTE THAT THIS PAGE WILL BE UPDATED FREQENTLY, SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. CHECK IT OFTEN!

Reserve Readings
As many course readings as possible (within limits of copyright laws) will be posted on "e-reserve" where you can download the file and use Adobe Acrobat Reader to view or print the article. To get to our virtual "reserve room," go to http://www.mlb.ilstu.edu and click on "Reserve Readings". After you search under my name and the course number, you will see a list of all the reserve materials. Those that are available as e-files are noted as such. With Adobe Acrobat, they can be downloaded and printed. Adobe Acrobat Reader is included in ITools; if you need it, there is a link for downloading it at the "Reserve readings" entry page. Or, you can click to download a free copy from http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html.
Handouts
Most handouts will be available for viewing/printing.

Lectures
I won't be using PowerPoint slide presentations regularly during this class. However, I will prepare my lecture notes as slides so that they can be saved as HTML files for viewing outside of class. REMINDER: A lot of good stuff will happen during class (I hope), including examples and discussion, so viewing the slides alone will typically not serve as a substitute for class attendance.
Lectures are available here.
Grades
Grades are posted to help students keep track of their standing in the course. If you identify any discrepancies between your records and ours, please let us know!
