This is the scoring system that will be used on your case discussion assignments. We hope it helps you understand the criteria on which your work is being evaluated. These 20-point assignments are designed to provide students with an opportunity to reflect on course material, integrate it, and apply it. The best answers will include correct information from lectures/text and a thoughtful application of this information, articulated clearly, logically, and coherently. While grading these assigments, we will identify desired features of the answer, and award points for each feature present. Component scores will be totalled. The global scale is A+ = 20, A = 18, B = 16, etc. Facts/Info: 6 points Looking for: is the relevant information included? how correct is it?
Integration/Application: 10 points Looking for: Does the student understand and respond to the question? how creative is the answer? how reasonable/sensible? is there evidence that the person has integrated more than one source of info (different parts of chapter, text plus lecture)?
Style: 2 points
