Neil and Joan Styczynski Scholarship

Joan and Neil Styczynski have created this scholarship in support of the education community of Central Illinois through Illinois State University and Heartland Community College. With the scholarship, they are “paying back” for the generosity from which they benefited. It is their hope that the recipients of this scholarship will “pay it forward” in helping and affecting lives of young people in a positive way.

Each candidate for a Neil and Joan Styczynski Scholarship must be or have:

A. Accepted and enrolled in good standing at Illinois State University as a transfer student from a community college. Preference will be given to transfer students from Heartland Community College.

B. Declared major in a teaching discipline within the College of Arts and Sciences.

C. Academic standing of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

D. Demonstrated financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office at Illinois State University.

E. Using the scholarship for educational expenses, including tuition, fees, books and/or costs associated with student teaching. Award is applied to expenses incurred the semester following selection of the recipient.

 

The amount of the award will equal tuition and fees for an academic year (30 hours) for each scholarship recipient.
