School of Social Work
- The School of Social Work has had significant success in securing external funding over the past five years, receiving an average of over $1 million per year for the last three years. Not only has the amount of grant money steadily increased over the last five years, but 3/4s of the faculty have been successful grant recipients in the past two years.
- After a concentrated planning and curricular review process, this last academic year saw the new Bachelor’s of Social Work (BSW) curriculum fully in place. This past year the School graduated its largest class of Master’s of Social Work (MSWs). All 28 of these MSW graduates presented findings of their required research projects at the 2004 Graduate Research Symposium or at the School of Social Work sponsored session on MSW student research.
- The faculty members in the School are active scholars, publishing books and numerous articles, and giving presentations at prestigious conferences. Since 2002, the faculty in the School published six books or edited volumes and 37 journal articles or book chapters.
- Social Work faculty are providing significant leadership on state and national boards and in their professional organizations
- The School of Social Work is especially generative of partnerships with community and state agencies, and within the university.
