The Dean's Awards have been renamed the College of Arts and Sciences Excellence Awards.
The College of Arts and Sciences Excellence Awards are the highest honors the College bestows on faculty and staff and reflect the contributions made by Departments/Schools, faculty, staff, and alumni. They are peer-determined awards recognizing outstanding achievement. The College presents 7 Excellence Awards each year.
The Janice Witherspoon Neuleib Award for Outstanding Scholarly Achievement by a Tenured Faculty Member recognizes and rewards the tenured faculty member with the most extraordinary scholarly achievement in the preceding calendar year. One award: $3,000 to a tenured faculty member.
The CAS Excellence Award for Outstanding Scholarly Achievement by a Pre-tenured Faculty Member recognizes and rewards the pre-tenured faculty member with the most extraordinary scholarly achievement in the preceding calendar year. One award: $3,000 to a pre-tenured faculty member.
The John A. Dossey Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Tenured Faculty Member recognizes and rewards the tenured faculty member with the most extraordinary record of teaching in the preceding three calendar years. One award: $3,000 to a tenured faculty member.
The CAS Excellence Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Pre-tenured Faculty Member recognizes and rewards the pre-tenured faculty member with the most extraordinary record of teaching in the preceding three calendar years. One award: $3,000 to a pre-tenured faculty member.
The CAS Excellence Award for Outstanding Teaching by an Administrative Professional recognizes and rewards the administrative professional with the most extraordinary record of teaching in the preceding three calendar years. One award: $3,000.
The CAS Excellence Award for Outstanding Staff Award recognizes a staff member for his or her significant contributions to the College. Two awards: $1,500 to an administrative/professional staff member, $1,500 to a civil service staff member.
The CAS Excellence Awards are presented annually at the College’s Spring Address in April. Recipients receive an engraved plaque as well as a monetary award.
Once fully endowed, the CAS Excellence Award Fund will support all 7 awards in perpetuity.
